Another astute analysis of a people who know no limits and no shame!

F....'s avatar

If they really have no shame what might be the reason they're trying so hard to justify their actions?

Diane Engelhardt's avatar

It is not because of shame, rather because they have no justification and, being psychopathic fanatics, they will deny any and all responsibility for their actions and the consequences of those actions!

F....'s avatar

Indeed nothing will ever justify what the Israeli's are doing to the Palestinians - it appears they know full well that what they're doing is not only wrong it's begging to be criticized and ridiculed - Zionist history is pure hypocrisy.

The lack of condemnation for this sadistic genocide throughout the world is another story, one that reeks of complicity.

Now, pretend that Russia or any other country that the Empire doesn't like were doing anything comparable. Imagine the worldwide howls of outrage.

But, just as the enemies of the empire can do no right, the empire's pets can do no wrong.

Their insanity knows no bounds. “Israel has chosen this moment to insist that the world beyond its borders swallow this project as legitimate in the 21st century” but more than just legitimate, they say their project is actually meant to save Western civilization!

Over the long term I cannot imagine any scenario in which “Israel” survives in its current form. Brazen arrogance is one thing. Insanity is something else.

LaVerne Karras's avatar

I agree, we, as a civilized world, must say to Israeli Zionists, Given your barbarous conduct, you cannot be among us.

LaVerne Karras's avatar

Actually, I should restate that and include ALL Zionists, all of them are contributing to the barbarity and in doing so, promoting it.

Bless you for reflecting beautifully what many a retired teacher of young children know must have been deliberately missed in those raised to such hate-filled, slanderous, murderous, infantilized "adults" in no-soul form. What bargains with what evil have their parents made for these morally mangled offspring?! For what? I wonder daily...

Your work saves me. Knowing there are others who ponder so deeply the ways out of this inflicted hell on earth.

Huge gratitude, Mr. Lawrence.

As a NYC resident for 50 years I know of the chutzpah of Jews. I can count 14 times, I was cheated and stolen from....by business partners, brokers, lawyers, even "friends'.

One example: Back in the late 70's, buildings in NYC were dirt cheap. A friend who had one of the first dentist consulting companies introduced me to her former employer, a Jewish dentist.

He needed partners to buy and flip properties. Or, we could buy and hold.

We bought 2 mixed use buildings on W. 18th street for 280K. We sold one to the carpenter who was renting in one building and kept the other one. Our Jewish partner said if we put down the cash, he would pay the mortgage. The rents would cover the expenses...heating, taxes, etc.

He kept the rent money and did not pay the mortgage. We were in serious arrears. We, the 4 partners, were all successful intelligent goyem. I recall him bringing his wife to meetings and looking so forlorn like he was just so incompetent. We wrote him out of that building because he had put nothing in and had caused us financial problems. We were able to avoid foreclosure and pay the debts ourselves. We probably did not want to accuse him of cheating us on purpose. He was Jewish so that would have felt like anti-semitism....

We had another larger building on E. 83rd. A year later he signed a sales contract for it. WE didn't want to sell it but "our" jewish lawyer said we had to, or we would be sued for "specific performance."

In retrospect, we were just not up to dealing with this force of chutzpah. We should have gotten him out of the other buildings. We did NOT have to proceed with a sale....And, I discovered later: "our" lawyer double charged us. It was a set up: 2 NY Jews against 5 trusting Goyem. I am sure he got $ under the table for that contract.

It's so easy to cheat trusting honest goyem. We would never expect that a partner would turn out to be a thief...even against an old friend.

His family, the children of that mini-Madoff, have a larger dental business now. Thanks to Dad's clever chutzpah.

I came to the conclusion that Jews, in general, see non-Jews as cows to be milked.

Think the Israelis don't see the USA exactly like that?

The zionists and their American enablers are war criminals and must be brought to justice. For now, the Trump regime is backing the genocidal zionists. But, watch, the zionists will NOT honor any peace agreement because they will come up with a lie to break it. It's been their history. A history of an arrogant, old testament soaked people. Just look at the map of Israel in 1948 and today to see the land they stole from the Palestinians. I want to remember there are jews and then there are zionists.

I agree with most of what you say, as usual, Patrick, but I do think it wise to also understand that Zionism is not monolithic either and the use of the term of Zionism in such a uniformly broadstroke way as some unique evil is not quite accurate. It smells bad. I am sure I will be lambasted for saying this but some forms of Zionism are more humane and even socialistic than other forms of Zionism which tend to be more brutal, babaric, hateful, vicious and fascistic. There are also muddy-middle centrist forms of Zionism too. That Zionism is not monolithic is a key point to remember. What Israel is today is a clear form of fascistic, barbaric Kahanist Zionism (inspired by the late Rabbi Meir Kahane) and this makes it different from other forms of Zionism that dominated in the past that sought equality for all Israeli citizens, including Israeli Palestinian Arabs.

I think to name the current form of Zionism as specifically "Kahanist Zionism" is an important distinction. This is because one could argue, and I probably would argue, that despite the historical origins of Zionism from the early 19th century and embraced by Theodore Herzl in the late 19th century, that following the Holocaust, there were few good options. At the time, very limited options for the Jewish people existed especially after 2000 years of history replete with many injustices against the Jewish people culminating in the Holocaust, that the creation of the state of Israel was a necessary evil. It was necessary to protect the Jewish people from the ravages of State power in a way that established and preserved a Jewish majority in a state of their own. People tend to judge history by the standards of their own time, a sort of temporal ethnocentrism but this is a highly subjective and questionable practice. At the time, there was no choice between good and evil as there exists in fairytales. No, the only choices available were between less evil (the Nakba displacement and the establishment of the state of Israel by taking their land) and more evil (don't do anything and just hope another Holocaust doesn't happen) and the most evil, just kill all the Palestinians and take their land.

So I would argue the establishment of the state of Israel was a necessary evil, the lesser of all available choices at the time, dictated by the harsh terms of history at that time and a desperate rush to save world Jewry, 2/3 of whom perished in the European Holocaust. Palestine was chosen because the land of Jerusalem and the Israelites peppers much of Jewish liturgy and this is understandable given the Roman sacking of Jerusalem at the time of the fall of the Second Temple, instigating an exodus of Jews from their traditional homeland in Palestine to the land of Europe to the north. In some ways, Jews were returning home. Unfortunately, that entailed expelling a people that had made it their home too. That may be unjust and wrong, but I would argue that is was also the best of bad options at the time. What is clear today is that the Palestinians possess just as much of a right to achieve self-determination and to be treated with dignity and respect as Jews do too and do enjoy within the State of Israel.

So please take my criticism in the spirit they are offered---------to help strengthen your argument by distinguishing between Kahanist Zionism which is pretty evil and other forms of Zionism which are less evil, some even partially good, but that were necessary given the barbarities and genocide that were inflicted upon the Jewish people at the time. Zionism in that regard was a necessary evil and it was also the lesser of only evil choices available at the time. The world is not comprised of narratives that are chiefly good and evil, black and white, binary, Manichean, easy to understand and rally around. That exists more in fairytales than in reality. We do ourselves and our audiences great favor by dealing with the facts, with reality and with the complexities that underpin them. But I enjoy most of your very insightful, philosophically well-grounded articles, and I hope you keep writing them.

I am sure I will be lambasted by the extremes and others for saying what I said above, but I think it is worth saying and repeating. Zionism is not monolithic. Some forms of Zionism are more noble than other forms. It is an important distinction worth citing.

It's a case of ideology trumping good sense which blocks the ability for innovation and self-examination that pretty much ensures repetition forever. Imagine if on October 7 2023 the Israelis had opened communication withn the Gazans in a truth and reconciliation commission to resolve their issues once and for all. Israelis are interlopers, colonists, but they've also been there for a hundred years and for many of whom it is where they were born. Pulling together would achieve a lot in Israel, reparations for stolen property, murderd on bith sides. Ironically I think you're right that without the Americans funding and arming them they would be singung a different tune, and it's actually the Americans who are driving this train.

It's even possible that the Israelis knew that something was coming and told the military to stand down. They wanted an excuse and if some of their countrymen were killed or taken hostage, then a PERFECT excuse to finish the job they had stated 80 years before.

No matter what anyone does to stop the genocide, it will continue.

They were planning a Gaza Riviera way before Oct7. Trump bought right into it. There are plans for it to be tax free villas for billionaires.

Duane McPherson's avatar

I think that is a real possibility. The Israelis needed a big incident to allow them to attack Gaza in a big way afterward. We've seen that before in US adventures: "Remember the Maine!", Pearl Harbor, Gulf of Tonkin.

And of course the 9/11 attacks after the outgoing Clinton administration had explicitly warned Bush, Jr. that Jihadists were planning another big attack on the US (after they already tried to blow up the World Trade Center from below with a large van-bomb in 1993). The 9/11 attack was predictable, even if the specific date and time were not. It was the same with the 10/7 uprising in Gaza. You had to look away to not see it coming.

Hamas at the time was in a hard bind because Saudi Arabia was about to sign a big accord with Israel that would have erased the Palestinians as a political force, forever. They would have been swept under the carpet of Israeli-Saudi interests. Hamas took the challenge and broke out of Gaza, and that wrecked the plan to isolate the Palestinians and whitewash the slow genocide that has been going on since Zionists began buying out Arab property owners and evicting Palestinian tenants in the late 19th and early 20th century.

You and I are aware of these things but it's obvious that most people do not and the Trump team of fools does not. The community of Gaza, even under almost impossible conditions had culture and humanity.

The hostages and POW's they kept hidden for so long did not suffer torture and they emerged looking pretty OK. It had to be quite a challenge to keep them alive. The 3 young women who were released last year were singing the praises of their captors. I wished for one to publish her journal but I believe they were told very firmly that anything they reported that shown a positive light would lead to punishment, even death, of family members. Any material they possessed was taken away.
