Measured comments, Patrick on a worsening situation in Gaza. I admire Roger Walters as he has the courage to speak the Truth and like most of us, saddened by the recent and calculated chain of events in Gaza.

Also, Glad you made reference to the late great Edward Said, who I loved listening to and learning from, when being interviewed at length on kpfa.org listener supported radio who, to me, was a saintly man of knowledge, compassion and wisdom, who fought for his people's liberation from the oppressors of Israel.

The one-state two state solution has been tossed around for decades and has yet to be resolved, as Israel's intent is to make that nation for Jewish people only, and anyway they can get away with reducing the Palestinian population, they'll continue doing it unless stopped, by all means necessary, as their arrogance has increased each year, going back to 1948, when they "displaced" 750, 000 Palestinians from their homeland and gotten away with it. Now, they openly bulldoze Arab homes and building new "Jewish Only" homes using American taxpayer dollars. The United Nations said it's illegal and a human rights violation, but didn't impose "sanctions" on the Neo-Nazi (wannabes) Likud regime in Tel Aviv, nor used NATO aircraft for humanitarian bombing of that capital to stop it.

It's disgusting hearing or reading one-sided reports in the big, corporate media outlets backing Israeli atrocities, but I guess when you control a nations money supply and much of the media, you can call the shots with biased news coverage.

Even the Old Testament’s "culture of revenge" had its legal and moral limits--an eye or an eye. We can see how blatantly the nation of Israel exceeds this instructive restraint. Certainly, the Sermon on the Mount was an altogether new level of consciousness over Jewish and Roman law offering humanity a better way, to which Christians themselves have rarely (truly) aspired and certainly have failed in practice.

When I look at the Divided States of America with its mostly "to the good" Bill of Rights which fails in practice (I find the 10th amendment to be troublesome to so many of our ills), it is hard for me to see a democracy emerge from the bloodshed of these many decades, though for its difficulty, it should not be dismissed out of hand. One thing is certain, and Biden has done well to confirm this for all the world to see; the USA should be castigated out of the equation. We are consistently bad faith actors towards peace. It is time the Mid East (and all other nations around the globe) tell us to shove off.
