They’ve been itching for revenge ever since. Here they are. But just like the failed mission to rescue the Americans that resulted in a catastrophic loss of life and equipment, the past is prologue. Only this time the stakes are colossally higher. This American disaster will result in a global paradigm realignment. The writing has been on the wall for the USA for a while . Asymmetric tactics have been forcing retreat in many of their adventures and it continues now . They cannot keep committing wars on the national credit card and not suffer the consequences .Wars are won by logistics. Even when they don't commit to "boots on the ground" they take casualties and it's getting harder to hide . If the MSM wasn't pretending that there is "nothing to see here" it would be front page news . When the Kagans admit their plan isn't working you know it's getting real...
The reference to Vietnam reminded how it was for us young people in America back then. I knew the facts of the Vietnamese revolution and could not condone the replacement of French colonialism for American colonialism, regardless of any 'communism' and maybe because of it. We went to work to oppose the war and the draft that made it possible, and during that time I was much too busy to follow events and I never knew anything about battles or body counts. We saw the American enemy close at hand in the hostility of the petit-bourgeoisie, the hard crunch of police batons, the bars in the jails, and we moved forward with dedication and integrity. I think this was passionarity. Note: the government in North Vietnam sent us a nice note thanking the Draft Resistance for their hard work.

The indigenous peoples of the Americas, Asia, and Africa had brave, skilled, and highly motivated warriors—but the Maxim machine guns slaughtered them en masse and defeated these armies.
The Japanese of World War II were cruel but also extremely motivated fighters—yet in the end, they were slaughtered by the U.S. military machine by the millions. Bravery and morale are important, but technological progress is and always has been more important.
We can only pray to God that Silicon Valley does not begin to dominate thinking at the Pentagon; otherwise, both Russia and Iran will lose world war III.
If Silicon Valley succeeds in producing autonomous drones the size of dragonflies that carry 5–10 grams of explosives, remain active for half an hour, and can be dropped in large numbers by aircraft over critical areas, this will have an effect similar to the invention of the machine gun in the 19th century for fighting the armies of the indigenous peoples of Africa or Asia.
Of course, these drones won’t be able to distinguish between civilians and soldiers and will explode on the head of anyone unlucky enough to be in the target area defined by the U.S.—but hey!—has collateral damage ever been a problem for the U.S.?
When Russian or Iranian soldiers reach locations littered with thousands of corpses with blown-off heads and brains hanging out, that will certainly have an impact on their combat effectiveness...
We’ve been in World War III for a long time. The West is bankrupt; no Western politician is willing to tell their constituents THIS—it means that we Westerners will have to work hard for low pay and few vacations until at least 2050 or 2026 before we can ever compete economically again—and so war is the only option for us bankrupts.
