John Pilger has long been a hero of mine though I have met him only once.He was opening an art exhibition in the city of his birth - Sydney - and spoke clearly of the skulduggery then afoot re Julian Assange. He is one of that extraordinary band of journalist (including you, PL - and Chris Hedges, Fintan O'Toole0 who have their English-speaking fingers figuratively on the world's pulse.
Damn, John, you're good. I think you're wrong about the NATO orchestrated guerrilla war. The only Ukrainians that would sign on to do that would be the Nazis and there never were that many of them. I'm surprised that they took the other two regions into Russia (i.e. the non-Donbass). When you have the populace on your side, you win (see Cuba), When the populace is against you, you lose (see, for the US, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Vietnam, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile etc). If they really want to join Russia, fine but I was largely under the (mis) impression that most of the Ukraine was fine with the lunatics in Kiev. I plan to send this out to all my friends.
Oh yeah. I failed to mention that the outstanding public debt as published by the Treasury has been a hair less than $31T for the last month. So that does not include the generosity of the fools in Congress to the tune of how many billions and billions? Nor does it include the cost of replenishment for what we've sent over to the Ukraine for Russian target practice. And we're in a recession. The wheels that come off the US car will be financial.
Yes, indeed, I am. It was pretty prescient. But I think Mr. Pilger was thinking in terms of the US stunt in Afghanistan when he was talking about a guerrilla war in the Ukraine. Like I said, I don't see that as a possibility. The rest of my comment is just updating things from 2014.
What is John Pilger saying now? I would love to know!
I found this from February by him on Ukraine:

and this from 6th September:

Thank you very much. It is never explained WHY such pathological hate of capitalist Russia and total support of Nazi-dominated Ukraine government !!
Stand with Russia – it fights for all of us against bipartisan fascist US/UK clique.

Jeffrey - you are clear in realising that this was written in 2014 - right?

Thanks, Jeffrey. I wasn't so sure of your starting point - this clarifies it...
