As has been said before, you must name the issue correctly or you run the risk of missing the deeper causes and nuances of any argument or discussion.
One of the worst mis-directions of the Israeli-Palestinian war is Israel claiming the right to defend itself.
From a high level of abstraction, yes, a sovereign nation has the right to defend itself.
However, not only are Israel's actions not about defending itself, which would entail attacking the military that is attacking them, not children and other innocents, various Geneva Conventions make it clear that an occupying force can never be considered as defending itself.
A colonial-settler force historically has had complete dominance over the colonized until there is a widespread revolt of some kind. Of course, this skips over the bigger issue that no country has the right to colonize another country or people.

I also see that in the overall reporting of the war between Israel and Hamas, everything is held in the same manner as it is in the Ukraine war, namely that there is only one-sided and biased reporting.
With regard to Ukraine, only the entire actions of the Ukrainian army are publicised by the media, but not what is happening on the Russian side.
Similarly, in the Middle East, only Israel is reported on, but not the other side, which means that the media also takes sides here, and only in favour of Israel, which also rages much worse than the attackers.
I also saw how Israeli military personnel hid firearms etc. in a hospital, which they then allegedly found and had photographed by war journalists, with the untruthful claim that these weapons had been stored there by the other side.
And that atrocities were also committed by the Israeli army, as well as by the attackers, which you have observed together with me, so you know what is really happening.
And it continues to happen on a large scale, with the 'great leader' Netanyahu, as a paragon of Adolf Hitler, fuelling the whole thing in full hatred.
That is what corresponds to the truth.

Yes, I agree about the power of language and Mr. Dimock is to be commended for taking the time in eloquently addressing this important issue, an understatement for sure, as the genocide or "new Holocaust" waged against the Palestinian people by the Neo-Nazi wanna bees has been given the "okay" by our corrupted president, Joey the pro-war AIPAC lapdog, Biden. I know this sounds crazy or weird, but I wish the Russians and the Chinese had the moral courage and moral strength to stand up to the U.S. and the NATO goon squads and say, "enough is enough, already!" and intervene military, as they are the only two nations able to defend themselves against the perpetual war machine in Wash. D.C. which the average American could care less about.
