Personally, I was never convinced Biden was the lesser evil. As odious as Trump, Pompeo and Bolton were their bombast and stupidity undermined their effectiveness. As Assad said, albeit somewhat tongue in cheek, everyone could see them coming, and for Assad that was preferable. Trump caused great irritation but I think the world responded to him as one would a toddler with a machine gun, cognizant of the danger, but aware of the need to remain calm and even cajole if necessary. Biden’s crew of ruthless neocons are a crack team by contrast. They are the insiders among the global capitalist elite. They have a track record of outsized mistakes and underdeveloped self awareness. The Trump administration was a mess, Biden’s team will have a unity of purpose that scares the Hell out of me.
